Description: Monika Kostera's poems concern work as opposed to workplace; dreams about art as opposed to strategies of artifice; learning as opposed to training. What is leadership? What is thinking? Can it be produced and delivered? These poems are not explicit, they do not reveal what they aim at. But they all have in common one thing: they concern what I believe are resonances of Akademia, Ἀκαδήμεια: dreams born out of spaces and sanctuaries of knowing. Sometimes pure like wandering in an olive grove; mostly broken, contaminated, infected. The pandemic has left its shadow over them. Vicious leadership practices have perturbed them. Yet in these vertical spaces dreams nonetheless take flight. This may not be wisdom, but it is certainly a travelogue of the frantic hike in search of it.
