| Abstract: | This health care atlas describes health care problems, needs, and resources of the eastern region of North Carolina. It is produced as an aid to accomplishing one of the university's primary missions, improving the health care of people in the region. Besides showing where graduates of our programs are most needed and where new services should be targeted, it may be used by faculty of the university who are engaged in applied research. It should also be useful to legislators, local officials, health service administrators, and health care providers who seek to understand and reform our present health care system, or to plan and implement health services at the local community level. |
