Description: The research-practice divide in English language education persists despite longstanding efforts to bridge it. This article critiques traditional models of educational research that marginalise practitioners and students, positioning them merely as data sources. It advocates for a participatory approach grounded in inclusion, diversity, and shared power. The EQUITY Framework is proposed as a practical model to foster early stakeholder engagement, flexible roles, recognition of localised knowledge, and equitable dissemination. Emphasising practitioner and student agency, the article outlines concrete steps to transform research into a genuinely collaborative, impactful, and contextually relevant endeavour. ; peer-reviewed
