| Description: | The article analyses peculiarities of the literary tale on the example of J. R. R. Tolkien’s fairy tales “Tales from the Perilous Realm”, “Roverandom”, “Farmer Giles of Ham”,“Smith of Wootton Major”, “Leaf by Niggle”, and “The Adventures of Tom Bombadil”; it is found out they are connected with myths, however a reader apprehends them as an independent esthetic phenomenon, the fairy tales connect magical, fabulous and fantastic characters (personages) loaned from various sources. The article follows that the closed world of Tolkien’s fairy tales attracts the reader by its integrity, completion and magic, and the scene is set in the so-called antiworld (Wonderland, the World of Niggle’s picture). It is found out that the antiworld is characterized by its own reticence with all fairy tale attributes (animals, plants and toys’ ability to talk, magical things etc); time and space in fairy tales are organized with a dotted line – fixing clue moments of the plot, the chronotop is able to contract in a magical way. The article distinguishes Tolkien’s tale “Leaf by Niggle” that reflects the author’s religious philosophy, his vision of creation and life process. It is proved that all story lines of Tolkien’s fairy tales are subjected to the integral moral basis that becomes a harmonious law. The article discovers that the fabulous convention in Tolkien’s fairy tales tends to the global generalization, to leading the situation to the level of the pure being and at the same time it tends returning to its Sources, to the ideal layer less existence. Traditional fairy characters turn into signs and symbols of abstract categories of good and evil, help and indifference, deed and treason, overcoming and inactivity (idleness) etc. It is found out that Tolkien aims to give peculiar modern details to his fairy personages; he wants to complicate the plan of the characters by analyzing their feelings. У статті проаналізовано особливості літературної казки на прикладі чарівних історій Дж. Р. Р. Толкіна “Сказання з Небезпечного Королівства”: “Роверандом”, “Фермер Джайлз із Гема”, “Коваль із Великого Вуттона”, “Листок пана Дрібнички” та “Пригоди Тома Бомбадила”; виявлено, що вони пов’язані з міфами, однак читач сприймає їх як самостійний естетичний феномен, казки поєднують чарівних, дивовижних та фантастичних персонажів, запозичених з різних джерел. Простежено, що замкнений світ казок Толкіна приваблює читача цілісністю, завершеністю та чарівністю, а події відбуваються у так званому антисвіті (Дивокрай, світ картини пана Дрібнички).З’ясовано, що антисвіт характеризується власною замкненістю, з усіма атрибутами казки (здатність розмовляти у тварин, рослин та іграшок, чарівні предмети тощо); часопростір організовано в казках пунктиром – з фіксацією ключових моментів сюжету, хронотоп має властивість у чарівний спосіб стискатися. |
