| Description: | The article deals with the gender features of modern sports photojournalism. The author examines the differences in picturing men and women; the possibility of using different approaches and their relevance to the modern sports editions. The author describes in detail the reasons why only a few women are engaged in sport photography. For example, the Olympic games in Sochi showed that women and men can perform all editorial tasks on the same level. According to the results of the personal interviews, the author concludes that the main reason that caused such a phenomenon could be the fact that this type of activity does not appear to be a primary source of income, which means that there are more possibilities in the choice of employment format. Рассматриваются гендерные особенности современной спортивной фотожурналистики. Автор исследует различия в восприятии спортивных событий фотографами мужчинами и женщинами, а также возможности применения разных подходов в современных спортивных редакциях. На примере Олимпиады-2014 исследователь показывает, что женщина наравне с мужчиной может выполнять все редакционные задания. На основе личных интервью автор приходит к выводу, что наличие небольшого количества женщин в спортивной фотожурналистике обусловлено тем, что работа для них часто не является основным источником дохода, а значит, есть больше возможностей в выборе формата занятости.
