| Description: | The dispute over the sovereignty of the Falkland Islands (called the Malvinas Islands in the Spanish-speaking world) between Argentina and Great Britain has been going on for about two hundred years. The archipelago has been a British territory since 1833, when the British declared the islands that previously belonged to Argentina as their territory. The Argentine people have not yet come to terms with this loss, and since then, the Argentine governments have repeatedly, but unsuccessfully, tried to regain their original territory - both on the battlefield and through diplomacy. The article highlights the historical roots of the territorial dispute over the Falkland Islands. The content and dynamics of the development of the Argentine-British relations on the "Falklands issue" are analyzed. It is argued that the Falklands (Malvinas) are becoming a decisive factor in shaping Argentine politics not only at the international level, but are also largely used by government administrations as a nationalist narrative in the country's domestic politics. Спор о суверенитете Фолклендских островов (называемых в испаноязычном мире Мальвинскими) между Аргентиной и Великобританией длится уже около двух сотен лет. Архипелаг является британской территорией с 1833 г., когда англичане объявили острова, ранее принадлежавшие Аргентине, своей территорией. Аргентинский народ до сих пор не смирился с этой потерей и с тех пор аргентинские правительства неоднократно, но безуспешно пытаются вернуть себе исконную территорию – как на поле боя, так и посредством дипломатии. В статье освещаются исторические корни территориального спора вокруг Фолклендских островов. Проанализировано содержание и динамика развития аргентинско-британских отношений по «фолклендскому вопросу». Утверждается, что Фолкленды (Мальвины) становятся решающим фактором в формировании аргентинской политики не только на международном уровне, но и во многом используются правительственными администрациями как националистический нарратив во внутренней политике страны. |
