Description: Тhe article analyzes the research in the field of professional development of Ukrainian and Polish teachers. The foundations of comparative research of components in the theoretical structure of in-service training systems for teachers of natural sciences and mathematics in postgraduate education of Ukraine and the Republic of Poland are laid. The system analysis as a methodology of comparative research of systems of advanced training of teachers of natural and mathematical subjects is considered. Different models of in-service teacher training in both countries used by Ukrainian and Polish researchers are described and analyzed. The concept of the research and criteria (normative-target, structural-institutional, content-procedural, prognostic-developmental) for comparing training systems for teachers of natural and mathematical subjects in postgraduate education of Ukraine and Poland are substantiated.
