Description: Nurses in education, especially at smaller universities, may not be socialized or mentored in ways that would support seeking promotion in academia. Barriers and questions about the promotion process and recommendations about frequently asked questions are given in this article, along with biblical encouragement. Seeking promotion to a higher academic rank can bring enhanced credibility with which to serve God and can be an opportunity to improve one's character and ability to glorify God.
