This note develops a structural consequence of the null‑time constraint: a photon, as a null object, experiences zero proper time between emission and detection. This elementary fact of special relativity removes the possibility of internal evolution and rules out any trajectory‑based account of single‑photon behavior in spacetime. When combined with the standard amplitude rules of quantum mechanics, the null‑time constraint forces a relational description: the amplitudes form a static relational object determined by the experimental configuration, and a detection event is a draw that selects one branch of this structure as a spacetime outcome. No new physics is introduced, and no modification of existing theory is proposed. The analysis simply follows standard relativity and standard quantum mechanics to their joint implication: for null objects, “evolution’’ is not the correct category, and all structure prior to detection is relational rather than spacetime‑based. |
