| Description: | The article examines the activities of Agabala Guliyev, one of the prominent representatives of the national bourgeoisie of Azerbaijan, who played an outstanding role in the development of the flour-milling industry in the North Caucasus. It is shown that this industry was of particular importance for the region, which was one of the most important grain producers in the Russian Empire. At the same time, the “Caucasian Joint-Stock Company of Flour and Rice-Cleaning Mills A.B. Guliyev", focused on the introduction of the most advanced technology, in the shortest possible time took a leading position in supplying the Caucasus with flour, by the beginning of the First World War controlling up to 70% of the flour-milling industry in Stavropol. With the involvement of primary sources and archival documents, the article covers the activities of the mills of Agabala Guliyev in Stavropol and Georgievsk, which worked for a large market and supplied flour to both the Caucasus and other regions of the Russian Empire. В статье рассмотрена деятельность Агабалы Гулиева – одного из видных представителей национальной буржуазии Азербайджана, сыгравшего выдающуюся роль в развитии мукомольной промышленности на Северном Кавказе. Показано, что данная отрасль промышленности имела особое значение для региона, который являлся одним из важнейших производителей зерна в Российской империи. При этом основанное Агабалой Гулиевым «Кавказское акционерное общество мукомольных и рисоочистительных мельниц А.Б. Гулиева», ориентированное на внедрение самой передовой техники, в кратчайшие сроки заняло ведущие позиции в снабжении Кавказа мукой, к началу Первой мировой войны контролируя до 70% мукомольной промышленности в Ставрополе. С привлечением первоисточников и архивных документов, в статье освещается деятельность мельниц Агабалы Гулиева в Ставрополе и Георгиевске, работавших на обширный рынок и снабжавших мукой как Кавказ, так и другие регионы Российской империи. |
