| Description: | The article examines certain historical and legal aspects of the management of the territories of the Russian Empire in the region of Alaska and the Aleutian Islands. It is based on both historical and modern ideas about colonization, management of colonial territories, and the attitude of colonizers to the local population. Based on the results of the analysis, it is concluded that the administrative organization of management in Russian America through the semi-state trade and industrial Russian-American Company (RAC) corresponded to the colonial customs of that time. However, the deprivation of the RAC of a certain independence with a decrease in the interest of the ruling authorities in the prospects for the development of the region and a simultaneous reduction in financial and material support became the prerequisites for the loss of resource and strategically important territories by Russia. В статье исследованы отдельные историко-правовые аспекты управления территориями Российской империи в районе Аляски и Алеутских островов. В основу положены как исторические, так и современные представления о колонизаторстве, управлении колониальными территориями, отношении колонизаторов к местному населению. На основании результатов проведенного анализа сделаны выводы о том, что административная организация управления в Русской Америке посредством полугосударственной торгово-промышленной Российско-американской компании (РАК) соответствовала колониальным обычаям того времени. Однако лишение РАК определенной самостоятельности при снижении интереса правящей власти к перспективам развития региона и одновременном уменьшении финансовой и материальной поддержки стали предпосылками к утрате Россией ресурсно и стратегически важных территорий. |
