Работа представляет собой обзорную статью, посвященную одной из ярких страниц в истории географических исследований – академическим экспедициям XVIII в., охватывающим необъятные пространства Российской империи, в том числе и Северного Кавказа. Показана важная роль экспедиций, положивших начало комплексному изучению природы и хозяйства северной части Кавказа, а также их значение для развития географических исследований, заложивших начало развития кавказоведения. The work is a review article devoted to one of the brightest pages in the history of geographical researches – Academic expeditions of the XVIII century, covering the vast expanses of the Russian Empire, including the North Caucasus. The important role of expeditions, which initiated a complex research of the nature and economy of the northern part of the Caucasus, as well as their importance for the development of geographical researches is shown. They laid the foundation for the development of Caucasus researches. |
