| Description: | In the course of the conducted research, the authors draw their attention to the difficulties in teaching Latin to foreign students in the intermediate language. Starting with a general characterization of the history of the Latin language development, attention is emphasized on the fact that Latin has been and remains the professional language of doctors. Pharmaceutical terminology, based on the terms of special disciplines, is a separate layer of vocabulary, which is used to give recommendations regarding the treatment and use of medicines. The main problem in the training of future pharmacists is the lack of familiarity with the designation of medicinal plants and drugs and, as a consequence, lack of understanding of what they are talking about. The authors refer to this problem and suggest a number of tools to solve it. В процессе проведенного исследования авторы обращают свое внимание на трудности при обучении иностранных студентов латинскому языку на языке-посреднике. Начиная с общей характеристики истории развития латинского языка, внимание акцентируется на том, что латынь была и остается профессиональным языком врачей. Фармацевтическая терминология, базируясь на терминах специальных дисциплин, представляет собой отдельный пласт лексики, на котором даются рекомендации в отношении лечения и применения лекарственных средств. Основная проблема при обучении будущих фармацевтов заключается в незнании обозначения лекарственных растений и лекарственных средств и, как следствие, непонимании того, о чем идет речь.
