The author examines the impact of the increasing number of new stock issues in 1970 on the market recovery. He notes that corporate liquidity declined in part because many modern managers believed that a rationally conducted business should work with as much borrowed money as possible. Since 1958, investment institutions' net stock purchases exceeded the total of net new stock issues. He predicts that institutional net buying will be greater in 1970 than by the 1969 total. |
