The article discusses the catalog archive server (CAS) database management system for the Sloan Digital Sky Survey's (SDSS's) catalog data. Microsoft's SQL Server software constitutes the CAS's data repository. This database management system (DBMS) has had technology built into it that can accommodate fast spatial searches. |
