Περίληψη: The publication substantiates the relevance of developing professional knowledge and skills among higher education students majoring in specialty 141 "Electric Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electromechanics", acquainting them with modern automation tools used in power supply systems. In the context of the implementation of digital substation concepts, Smart Grid technologies, and intelligent electronic devices (IEDs), future specialists are expected to be capable of programming, configuring, and maintaining digital power infrastructure. Particular attention is paid to the use of the Siemens LOGO! controller as an accessible tool for introductory professional training. Its application provides an effective means of mastering the basic principles of relay logic, the operation of timers, counters, logic gates, and the use of graphical programming languages such as FBD (Function Block Diagram) and LAD (Ladder Diagram). The availability of the LOGO! Soft Comfort programming environment enables students to work with the controller not only in laboratory settings but also independently beyond the classroom. The paper presents an example of software implementation for the algorithm that limits the operating time of electrical load, with automatic daily counter reset. This solution illustrates key elements of control logic design: time monitoring, warning indication, and blocking of repeated activation until parameters are reset. It not only helps students grasp the technical foundations of automation but also provides a basis for further study of more advanced systems based on programmable logic controllers (PLCs), including integration with SCADA systems, network protocols, and cloud platforms. The practical value of the study lies in the development and testing of the applied solution using Siemens LOGO! for educational purposes. The proposed example can be integrated into laboratory assignments, course projects, or thesis work, contributing to the development of skills in I/O configuration, controller programming, function block design, logical condition handling, and the construction of structured control algorithms for real-world power engineering applications.
