Abstract (English): Contact pressure between tires and asphalt pavement structures exhibits strong nonuniform distribution characteristics. Pavement mechanical responses under such conditions can be obtained efficiently by numerical simulation. Two specialpurpose programs, Everstress FE developed by 3D finite element method and 3DMove Analysis developed by 3D continuumbased finitelayer approach, were assessed in this study. Their computational principles for simulating nonuniform contact pressure were systematically investigated, and their technical characteristics and differences were compared. Verification was conducted through one case study, and the mechanical responses such as road surface deflection, horizontal tensile strain at the bottom of asphalt mixture layers, and vertical compressive strain at the top of soil foundation were compared. The results demonstrate both programs provide reliable simulations, with good agreement observed in asphalt pavement analysis of nonuniform contact stress in asphalt pavement structures. Both offer efficient and practical solutions for the specified problems. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
[ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
