Abstract: One new α-pyrone derivative, acremopyrone A (1) was isolated from the soil-derived fungus Acremonium persicinum 3.2858. The structure of 1 was elucidated by comprehensive spectroscopic analysis including nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and high-resolution electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (HRESIMS). Compound 1 showed significant inhibitory activity against α-glucosidase. Enzyme kinetic analysis revealed a mixed-type mode of inhibition, which was further supported by molecular docking studies.
