Περίληψη: Ammonia volatilization from livestock manure is driven by urease-catalyzed urea hydrolysis, strongly influenced by temperature and pH. This study assessed the inhibition performance of phenyl phosphorodiamidate (PPDA) and N-(n-butyl)thiophosphoric triamide (NBPT) under conditions (10-35°C, pH 6-10) representative of manure storage. PPDA achieved strong suppression at 10°C and pH 6, reducing ammonia below 7.0 g NH4+-N/L (over 75 % reduction compared to control), but declined under elevated conditions. NBPT was less effective than PPDA under mild conditions but maintained stable performance as temperature and pH increased. Their combined use delayed ammonia peaks by up to 10 days, lowered concentrations by 6-8 %, and yielded the lowest reaction rate (k = 0.03 d-1) and highest activation energy (Ea = 59.4 ± 2.8 kJ/mol). Molecular docking confirmed PPDA formed multiple but weaker bonds, while NBPT provided shorter and stable interactions. Dual inhibition strengthens urease suppression, offering practical insights for seasonal and storage-specific application.
