This study explores the complexity of systems in which human behavior operates within a social context, termed the “human symbiotic system”. Through theoretical analysis, it investigates the functional structure, levels of management research, and mechanisms that underlie this complexity. The primary management objectives of the human symbiotic system are innovation and harmony. We identify three dimensions of harmony: the relationship between humans and nature, interactions among individuals, and considerations for present and future generations. Furthermore, the study introduces a comprehensive knowledge framework, called the Complex Scientific Management 18151 System, which provides theories and tools for managing human symbiotic systems. Our study provides managers and policymakers with a systemic framework for improving innovation efficiency, reducing coordination failures, and enhancing the long-term economic sustainability of complex social systems under digital transformation. This research marks a significant departure from traditional management approaches and offers a new perspective for advancing management studies by addressing the challenges of managing complex social systems.
