This review study aims to analyze the biological dimensions Resulting from of chronic poverty by exploring the molecular and physiological mechanisms that link economic deprivation to biological alterations in the human body, with a specific focus on the role of .epigenetics in explaining this relationship. The study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach through a comprehensive review of recent relevant scientific literature, analyzing findings to uncover the impact of povertyrelated factors—particularly malnutrition and chronic psychological and environmental stress—on regulating gene expression patterns without altering the underlying DNA .sequence Synthesized findings indicate that prolonged exposure to economic hardship contributes to functional disruptions across several vital systems, most notably the hypothalamicpituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis. This leads to altered cortisol levels and subsequent neurobiological, physiological, and behavioral effects that may persist into advanced stages of life. Furthermore, literature demonstrates that epigenetic modifications induced by harsh living conditions may heighten susceptibility to certain health disorders and, in .some instances, exhibit intergenerational transmission. The study concludes that poverty serves as a potent factor shaping biological pathways related to health and disease. Understanding its impacts from a biological and epigenetic perspective necessitates integrated approaches when formulating health and social policies, thereby mitigating the long-term cumulative effects of economic deprivation and .fostering sustainable human development.
