The article focuses on the international expansion of JioHotstar, India's largest video streaming platform, which is launching in the UK, Canada, and Singapore to reach the South Asian diaspora. Operated by JioStar, a joint venture between Walt Disney Co. and Reliance Industries Ltd., JioHotstar will offer over 160,000 hours of content in more than 12 languages, including popular Indian franchises like Bigg Boss and new originals featuring Bollywood stars. The platform aims to leverage its extensive content library and AI-driven personalization to attract subscribers outside India, where it already has over 500 million active users. Hollywood content from Disney and HBO Max will not be available internationally due to licensing restrictions. [Extracted from the article] |
