Abstract: This special issue focuses on emerging topics in quantitative and climate finance, featuring research presented at the II Workshop on Quantitative Finance (NITheCSQFW2025) held in Stellenbosch, South Africa. The selected papers address interdisciplinary challenges including stochastic environmental regulation, macroeconomic-ecological modeling of the Global North and South, stock market index dynamics using information theory, and probabilistic analysis of corporate net-zero commitments incorporating natural language processing data. Collectively, these studies emphasize methodological rigor and the integration of advanced mathematical and data-driven techniques to analyze financial and environmental dynamics under uncertainty and evolving regulatory frameworks. The issue highlights contributions from researchers across Africa, Australia, Germany, and the Global South, reflecting diverse perspectives on sustainability, climate risk, and financial innovation.
