Περίληψη: In the wake of what can be described as 'paradigm wars', epistemological tensions and methodological scepticism still seem to be bubbling under the surface of scholarly activity in the discipline of Business Management in South Africa. This tension diverts valuable energy away from advancing the discipline as a whole. Using Burrell and Morgan's multiparadigm view of the social sciences as point of departure, this conceptual study presents an adaptation of this multiparadigm view tailored to the discipline of Business Management. The adaptation also posits a chronology of knowledge creation in Business Management that assumes cooperation and cohesion between the three presented paradigms of neo-positivism, interpretivism and critical management studies.
