Περίληψη: The development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has created new challenges for the professional growth of foreign-language teachers. This study analyzed data from 424 questionnaires to examine how AI awareness influenced career-exploration behavior among foreign-language teachers in Chinese colleges. The findings revealed that AI awareness among foreign-language teachers at colleges was a positive predictor of career-exploration behavior, with psychological distress mediating this association. Further, proactive personality moderated the association between AI awareness and career-exploration behavior, with higher proactive personality reinforcing this link. These conclusions not only enrich theoretical understanding of career management but also offer valuable insights for building support systems for the career development of foreign-language teachers in higher education.
