This study introduces a new slotted microcylinder design to improve the aerodynamic performance of wind turbine blades. A numerical model was initially developed and validated against existing experimental and numerical results. The validated model was then used to perform a parametric study. The findings demonstrated that a slot width of 0.002c achieved the best performance. The optimal x and y locations were determined to be 0.04c and -0.04c, respectively. The slotted microcylinder was observed to reduce flow separation and improve the pressure gradient compared to the conventional airfoil. The optimal configuration was tested across different wind speed classes, with 7.31 m/s yielding the best performance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
