Abstract (English): The article summarizes the key findings of a dissertation on the application of numerical simulations in impact-echo (IE) and ultrasonic testing of concrete structures. The focus is on four use cases, including the detectability of gravel nests using ultrasound, large-scale 3D simulations of IE testing, the investigation of geometry effects in compact components, and the generation of training data for machine learning. The elastodynamic finite integration technique (EFIT) was used for the simulations, which takes into account realistic, viscoelastic, and heterogeneous concrete models. The study shows that numerical simulations can improve the acquisition, processing, and interpretation of IE and ultrasound signals, thereby enhancing the precision of nondestructive testing of concrete components.
