Περίληψη: The determination of 210Po in biological samples (BS) is important to protect people's health. However, the temperature and conditions at which 210Po compounds, which are of unknown composition, are volatile are not clear nor well understood, making its determination challenging. In this study, the volatility of 210Po in BS was studied by digesting, dehydrating, heating, and fusing food and vegetation samples for various durations and temperatures. It was discovered that 210Po volatility was not a function of the heating temperature nor the heating duration, but rather a function of the decomposition rate of the BS during the combustion process.
