Quizzes and exams are widely used to assess student learning. As such, writing high-quality questions for these assessments remains a perennial task, but it is also time-consuming. Time spent crafting these questions is unavailable for developing more engaging assignments and classroom activities. In this Quick Fix, the author describes how he used the AI question generator, Quizgecko, to quickly produce dozens of candidate questions based on journal articles, book chapters, and policy briefs. With the time saved, he replaced pop quizzes with low-stakes quizzes for each week's readings. This led to increased reading compliance and stimulated more reading-informed class discussions.
