The increasing levels of air pollution in urban and industrial areas necessitate the development of effective tools to monitor and assess air quality in real-time. This study aims to design a device for monitoring air quality using an MQ-135 sensor, an Arduino UNO microcontroller, and a 16×2 LCD output display. The research method involves direct testing to identify gases around the MQ-135 sensor, with the Arduino UNO serving as the microcontroller. Air quality is categorized into five levels: good, moderate, poor, very poor, and hazardous. Once the air quality values are displayed on the 16×2 LCD screen, users can easily monitor the air quality in their surroundings. The findings conclude that the designed tool effectively detects air quality levels, distinguishing between good and poor conditions. If the air quality is poor, a buzzer will emit a sound, signaling that the surrounding air quality is unfavorable. This research contributes to the development of cost-effective and user-friendly air quality monitoring systems, which can be implemented in residential, industrial, and urban areas to enhance public awareness and facilitate timely responses to hazardous air quality conditions.
