The increasing consumption of fossil fuels across several sectors demands a quick shift to sustainable resources in response to the growing need for energy. Biofuels are becoming more and more popular, they are affordable and easily accessible, especially biodiesel made with non-edible oil seeds. Direct biodiesel integration into Compression Ignition (CI) engines has the potential to increased levels of nitrogen oxide and decreased emissions of carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons. In CI engines, the combination of hydrogen and biodiesel improves overall performance. The mix 80BD20E (80% Biodiesel+20% Ethanol) is enhanced by the inclusion of ethanol, which enhances the biodiesel's cetane content and lowers the combustion temperature. In the current study, 80BD20E blend and Hydrogen (H2) at 03, 06, and 09 lpm are permitted at the air inlet at 20% load and 80% load conditions. The 80BD20E After that, the mixture is injected via the fuel injector at different Start of Injection (SOI) timings, such as 19bTDC, 21bTDC, and 23bTDC. This study suggests that adding hydrogen can enhance combustion, reducing fuel consumption specific and increasing brake thermal efficiency to brakes. In a similar vein, adding additives can reduce the quantity of nitrogen oxide generated during combustion. In summary, blends of biodiesel enhanced with hydrogen and other additives can improve combustion, performance, and emission characteristics, making them a viable sustainable energy source. To guarantee biodiesel's long-term viability as a renewable energy source, more research is necessary. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
