Περίληψη: Presentations (oral and poster forms) delivered at professional conferences publicize research, enhance one's visibility and professional stature, and provide a venue for collecting feedback from colleagues. The 6,987 presentations delivered at the Northwest Anthropological Conference from 1948 through 2015 reveal an increase in the total number of presentations over the time span sampled (Pearson's r = 0.877, p << 0.0001) and in the number of presentations in each of the four traditional subfields of anthropology. Of the total presentations 60.7% concern archaeological topics, 33.1% concern sociocultural anthropology, 4.4% concern physical/biological anthropology, and 1.8% concern linguistic anthropology. The ratio of archaeology presentations to sociocultural presentations increases significantly over time (r = 0.776, p << 0.0001). Of the sample of 345 presentations on zooarchaeological topics, 35.1% were either not found or were found to not exist in a form accessible today. Assuming this sample is representative of all presentations, this means a researcher today has a bit less than a two out of three chances of locating in accessible form the data and analyses discussed in a presentation.
