Abstract (English): Researchers of Hunan Museum discovered a new batch of silk embroidery fabric fragments in the textile collation of the inner coffin of Mawangdui No. 3 Han Tomb. Since 2024, researchers have carefully collated and analyzed the silk fabric fragments of the inner coffin, confirming that the double-phoenix "Chengyun embroidery" pattern is a brand-new pattern unearthed from Mawangdui No. 3 Han Tomb, tentatively numbered as the 17th layer of fabric. A silk fabric with double-phoenix "Chengyun embroidery" patterns was found in the coffin of Mawangdui No. 3 Han Tomb. The basic pattern is composed of double-phoenix pattern, spike flow cloud pattern and curly flowers and plants. According to the published pattern of single phoenix flying in spike flow cloud and curly flowers and plants in Mawangdui No. 1 Tomb, we named it double-phoenix "Chengyun embroidery," At present, there are 16 groups of "Chengyun embroidery, "totaling about 117 pieces of different sizes, with the largest one being about 76 cm long and 33.5 cm wide. The smallest one is about 2.5 cm long and 1.5 cm wide. Silk double-phoenix "cloud embroidery" is used as fabric, and yellow-brown plain silk as lining, with a layer of disorderly silk floss about 0. 2 cm thick in the middle. Some fragments are connected with wider geometric velvet brocade at the edge, with the widest part of geometric velvet brocade up to 27 cm. It is basically the same as the width of velvet brocade used in the hem, sleeve edge and collar edge of the "longevity embroidery" silk cotton robe in No. 1 Tomb and the "Xinqi embroidery" silk cotton robe in Luodi, so we judge that these silk fabric fragments belong to a silk cotton robe. This study systematically analyzes the artistic characteristics of the pattern in the arrangement of pattern units, embroidery techniques, color characteristics and cultural implications of the double-phoenix pattern on textiles from the Warring States period to the Han Dynasty through microscopic observation, mobile micro-X-ray fluorescence spectrometer detection, archaeological typology and literature research. The pattern takes the double S-shaped long-tailed beaked phoenixes as the core of the process. The double phoenixes are generally symmetrical in the central axis. They are woven with lock embroidery techniques, featuring color and stylized designs. The pattern has an obvious inheritance relationship with the phoenix pattern of the Warring States period, which reflects the evolution and innovation of the pattern from the Warring States period to the Han Dynasty. The discovery of this pattern not only provides a new material basis for the study of the development of silk embroidery technology in the Han Dynasty, but also provides valuable information for the interpretation of cultural phenomena, ideological beliefs and social customs at that time. The appearance of this new pattern further enriches the pattern system of the cultural relics of the Mawangdui Han Tombs, and has important academic value for the study of the evolution of the artistic style and decorative symbols of the Han Dynasty. The discovery of this new pattern is of great significance to the interpretation of the regional characteristics, artistic inheritance and innovation of silk fabrics in the Han Dynasty. Future research may further reveal the spread and variation of the double-phoenix "Chengyun embroidery" pattern in a broader historical and cultural background, so as to deepen the comprehensive understanding of its social, cultural and artistic development in the Han Dynasty.
