| Summary: | The subject of the thesis is the design of two interactive applications for the preservation and promotion of the intangible cultural heritage of Tinos and Lesbos, for the marble craftsmanship museum and the olive press museum respectively. The design specifications and decisions arising from the research aim to provide future designers with the basis for how interactive applications and installations can be designed in these spaces to enhance visitors' perceptual ability regarding the exhibited artwork, educate them on intangible and material heritage, enrich the overall museum experience, and emotionally connect them with the exhibits and their history. The design work to be presented is a collective effort of the design team of the University of the Aegean, which undertook the design of interactive installations for the promotion of material and intangible cultural heritage in the museums of the Piraeus Group Cultural Foundation in Tinos and Lesbos. |
