Industry 4.0 stands for the contemporary trend of automation and digitalization technologies in industry and it is typified on services and manufacturing by highly sophisticated electronics and IT. Academic researchers focalize on the comprehension and definition of this idea and endeavor to develop contiguous systems, business models and respective methodologies, while industry diverts its attention on the development of the industrial hardware and intelligent systems along with future clients. The automation and digitalization of the operations must be implemented throughout the supply chain regarding optimization of its functions. The aim of this thesis is to probe the impact of Industry 4.0 technologies on the Supply Chain Functions (SCF) classifying them depending on their utilization. To attain that, the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach was used which has a three-phase step review with multiple publications and manifold criteria to identify the related research. In this overview we have distinguished nine trending technologies that are transforming the SCF enabling the industry 4.0 to redefine businesses to the new era. These technologies are Additive Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality, Big Data & Analytics, Blockchain, Cyber-Physical Systems, Internet of Things, Robotics and Automation, and Simulation. For each of these technologies, their role in Industry 4.0 is analyzed, along with the reviewed publications, their applications, and the classification of publications based on the characteristics and types of these technologies. Furthermore, this thesis quotes how Industry 4.0 technologies are used in the supply chain planning and execution by listing applications and case studies.

Το Industry 4.0 αντιπροσωπεύει τη σύγχρονη τάση των τεχνολογιών αυτοματισμού και ψηφιοποίησης στη βιομηχανία και χαρακτηρίζεται από τις υπηρεσίες πληροφορικής και την κατασκευή με την χρήση εξελιγμένων ηλεκτρονικών εξαρτημάτων. Οι ερευνητές επικεντρώνονται στην κατανόηση και τον ορισμό αυτής της ιδέας και προσπαθούν να αναπτύξουν συστήματα, επιχειρηματικά μοντέλα, και αντίστοιχες μεθοδολογίες, ενώ η βιομηχανία ασχολείται με την ανάπτυξη βιομηχανικού υλικού και ευφυών συστημάτων μαζί με μελλοντικούς πελάτες. Η αυτοματοποίηση και η ψηφιοποίηση των λειτουργιών πρέπει να υλοποιούνται σε όλη την εφοδιαστική αλυσίδα όσον αφορά τη βελτιστοποίηση των λειτουργιών της. Ο στόχος αυτής της εργασίας είναι να διερευνήσει τον αντίκτυπο των τεχνολογιών Industry 4.0 στις λειτουργίες της εφοδιαστικής διοίκησης κατηγοριοποιώντας τες ανάλογα με τη χρήση τους. Για να επιτευχθεί αυτό, χρησιμοποιήθηκε η προσέγγιση της συστηματικής βιβλιογραφικής επισκόπησης η οποία χαρακτηρίζεται από μια επισκόπηση τριών φάσεων με πολλές δημοσιεύσεις και πολλαπλά κριτήρια για τον προσδιορισμό της σχετικής έρευνας. Σε αυτήν την επισκόπηση έχουμε διακρίνει εννέα τεχνολογίες που συμβάλλουν στην μετάβαση της αλυσίδας εφοδιασμού στην τέταρτη βιομηχανική επανάσταση. Αυτές οι τεχνολογίες είναι η Προσθετική Κατασκευή, η Τεχνητή Νοημοσύνη, η Επαυξημένη Πραγματικότητα, τα Μεγάλα Δεδομένα & Αναλύσεις, το Blockchain, τα Κυβερνοφυσικά Συστήματα, το Διαδίκτυο των Πραγμάτων, η Ρομποτική και ο Αυτοματισμός και η Προσομοίωση. Για κάθε μια από τις τεχνολογίες αυτές, αναλύεται ο ρόλος τους στο Industry 4.0, οι δημοσιεύσεις που διερευνήθηκαν, οι εφαρμογές τους, και γίνεται κατηγοριοποίηση των δημοσιεύσεων με βάση τα χαρακτηριστικά και τα είδη των τεχνολογιών αυτών.
