Ο τουρισμός είναι ένας από τους σημαντικότερους τομείς της παγκόσμιας οικονομίας, αλλά έχει σοβαρές επιπτώσεις στο περιβάλλον. Ως αποτέλεσμα, η τάση του βιώσιμου τουρισμού έχει εξελιχθεί με την αναζήτηση στρατηγικών που θα εξασφαλίσουν τουριστική ανάπτυξη και ταυτόχρονα δεν θα επηρεάσουν το περιβάλλον (Καραβιτακάκης & Χονδροματίδου, 2016). Σε αυτή την έρευνα θα παρουσιαστεί ο αντίκτυπος του 2ου Παρατηρητηρίου Τουρισμού της Σκύρου. Το Παρατηρητήριο Τουρισμού διαμορφώνει και εφαρμόζει στρατηγικές βιώσιμης διαχείρισης, πολιτικές και διαδικασίες μέσω της χρήσης δεικτών βιώσιμου τουρισμού και τεχνικών αξιολόγησης πληροφοριών (UNWTO, 2015). Συγκεκριμένα, το Παρατηρητήριο συγκέντρωσε ερωτηματολόγια τα οποία διανεμήθηκαν στους τουρίστες και τους κατοίκους του νησιού για να εξαχθούν συμπεράσματα σχετικά με τις προτιμήσεις τους, καθώς και για την επιλογή τους για τις καλοκαιρινές διακοπές. Στόχος της έρευνας αυτής είναι να προσδιοριστεί κατά πόσο οι τουρίστες και οι ντόπιοι, οι δράσεις είναι επιρρεπείς σε μια μακροπρόθεσμη βιωσιμότητα της περιοχής καθώς και οι τουρίστες που επιλέγουν ένα σημείο διακοπών καθοδηγείται από την οικολογική συνείδησή τους. Tourism is one of the most important sectors of the world economy,but it has a serious impact on the environment. As a result, the trend of sustainable tourism has evolved through the search for strategies that will ensure tourist development and at the same time will not affect the environment (Karavitakakis & Chondromatidou, 2016). In this research, the data bank impact of the 2nd Tourism Observatory of Skyros Island will be presented. The Tourism Observatory formulates and implements sustainable management strategies, policies and procedures through the use of Sustainable Tourism Indicators and Information Assessment Techniques (UNWTO, 2015).
