| description | The scope of this Thesis is: a) the description and evaluation of the Port System with the identification of problems and malfunctions b) The Investigation of Management methods - models on the basis of which the ports operate internationally c) Then and on Based on the needs for rationalization of the system, a system of operational Management and Efficient administration of ports and port investments in Greece is proposed and finally d) The proposal for the implementation of the proposed system at regional level as it is determined.
The experience of the port services package has shown that the ports are very different. The historical factor, here, is certainly very important. Ports have a history of many centuries and are much more integrated into local structures and cultures.
A proposal for a community directive on port services has been submitted since the beginning of 2007, which to a large extent has not yet been implemented.
Recent studies conducted on behalf of the Ministries of Merchant Shipping and Transport conclude that an immediate change of voyage is required for ports if the goal is competitiveness and the provision of quality services . |
