| description | School failure is a global phenomenon, which began to exist in the middle of the 20th century, in the existence of which many factors contribute. The purpose of this research is to investigate the views of primary school teachers for the phenomenon of school failure. More specifically, the individual objectives of the research was to examine the following: a) the conceptual specification of school failure, b) the factors that contribute the school failure, c) the consequences of school failure and d) how to deal with school failure. This research was conducted with qualitative method the structured interview was used and as a means of data collection. The primary school teachers who participated came from different places of the country and represent both sexes and different years of work experience. No one definition of school failure from the answers of the teachers came up there is. It was also, found that the most important factor affecting school failure are the family, school, educational system and finally some characteristics of the student. Eventually, regarding the proposals of dealing with the phenomenon of school failure, the teachers argued that there should be changes in the school and that there should be more cooperation between school and family. |
