Στην παρούσα εργασία μελετάται η έννοια του ξένου στα μυθιστορήματα της Μαρούλας Κλιάφα. Βασικό μέλημα είναι ο εντοπισμός και η αναπαράσταση του ξένου, όπως και η αποκωδικοποίηση της έννοιας αυτής μορφολογικά και εννοιολογικά με τη μέθοδο της εικονολογικής προσέγγισης. Η αναζήτηση του ξένου, στηριγμένη στα κριτήρια καθορισμού της ταυτότητας, έχει ως στόχο, αφενός, να συμβάλλει στην κατανόηση των όρων της αποδοχής του, στο πλαίσιο του πλουραλισμού και της διαπολιτισμικότητας και αφετέρου, να καταδείξει την αναγκαιότητα ένταξης των μυθιστορημάτων, ως αντικείμενο διδασκαλίας στη διαπολιτισμική εκπαίδευση, σύμφωνα με το νέο αναλυτικό πρόγραμμα. Το υλικό της έρευνας αποτελούν πέντε εφηβικά έργα μυθοπλασίας, πιο συγκεκριμένα, Μια μπαλάντα για τη Ρεβέκκα, Ο κόσμος βαριέται να διαβάζει θλιβερές ιστορίες, Ο δρόμος για τον παράδεισο είναι μακρύς, Δύσκολοι καιροί για μικρούς πρίγκιπες, Ο άντρας με τη γερμανική στολή. Σε όλα τα βιβλία ο «άλλος» ή ο «έτερος» ή ο «ξένος», άλλοτε, αντιμετωπίζεται με εχθρικότητα, δομώντας τις βάσεις του ρατσισμού και άλλες φορές, γίνεται οικείος, όταν η εικόνα του είναι δομημένη στη βάση της ομοιότητας. Τα ευρήματα της έρευνας εστιάζουν στη διαφορετική κάθε φορά παρουσίαση της μορφής του ξένου, σε άμεση συνάρτηση με τον χώρο στον οποίο κινείται, τον χρόνο των γεγονότων, το ιστορικό και πολιτισμικό πλαίσιο, στο οποίο εντάσσεται και στις σύγχρονες διαμορφωμένες κοινωνικές, οικονομικές και πολιτικές συνθήκες. Η αναπαράσταση του ξένου πραγματοποιείται με ρεαλιστικούς όρους και η θεματολογία καλλιεργεί οικουμενική συνείδηση και προβάλλει την αποδοχή του διαφορετικού πολιτισμικού στοιχείου και όχι την αφομοίωσή του από την κοινωνία υποδοχής. In this research the concept of “the foreigner” in the novels written by Maroula Kliafa is being studied. Its aim is the detection and representation of “the foreigner” as well as the decoding of the concept morphologically and conceptually with the method of «imagologie». The search of “the foreigner” grounded on the determining of the identity criteria aims both to contribute to the understanding of the terms of his acceptability within pluralism and interculturalism and to demonstrate the need to incorporate novels as a teaching process in intercultural education, according to the new curriculum. The research material is composed by five fictional novels written for teenagers. Specifically, “A ballad for Rebekah”, “The world is bored with reading sad stories”, “The road to Heaven is long”, “Hard times for small princes”, “The man in the German uniform”. In all these books “the other”, “the stranger” or “the foreigner” is sometimes treated with hostility, therefore building the foundations of racism, and other times with familiarity when his image is structured on the basis of similarity. The findings of this research focus on the different -every time- presentation of “the foreigner”, related to the area he moves, the time of the events, the historical and cultural context in which he appears as well as the contemporary social, economic and political conditions.
