As part of the PAMEDY a randomized, stratified study that took place in sam-pling of app. In this thesis study the demographic characteristics were compared to vitamin D and calcium levels in blood serum.roximately 4,500 people from all regions of Greece. Vol-unteers filled out with the help of researchers series of questionnaires designed to investigate the lifestyle, dietary behavior and health status. The results obtained from statistical analysis show that the Greeks follow a bal-anced lifestyle with good levels of physical activity. However, there was a large proportion which faced problems with arthritis, rheumatism, waist pain and depression. Smoking levels were low and the average of Greeks started smoking in adolescence. Vitamin D is indirectly linked to the above, appeared to be in low levels after measuring it in the blood test of healthy volunteers. The calcium found in normal ranges for measurements in the population. Although Greece is a sunshine country, the study shows relatively low levels of vitamin D. The environment and conditions conducive to the adoption of a healthy life-style, but there should be timely information and assistance to the population. In this way it is easier to face any increase in the prevalence of lack of vitamin D, a worldwide problem. |
