Description
Summary:Radio frequency identification (RFID) technologies are getting popularity due to their low cost, minimal size and inexpensive maintenance. In this thesis, we build a tool and present how the emerging RFID technology can be used for a smarter university. As a case study, a prototype device and the associated software were developed to ease the boarding service at our university. The proposed system is capable of authenticating university students who receive such a service and generates informative diagrams based on their usage. These data can be exploited by the administrator. All the infrastructure is based on a Raspberry Pi device that handles all the requests, say, the user login, and sends the related data to the server.
