description	Στόχος είναι η αναγνώριση του είδους ενός φύλλου από εικόνα, με χρήση τεχνικών εξόρυξης γνώσης στα δεδομένα. Στο πλαίσιο της παρούσας διπλωματικής εργασίας μελετήθηκε η βιβλιογραφία και αναπτύχθηκε μια οικογένεια αλγορίθμων ανάλυσης χρονοσειρών. Θα πρέπει σύμφωνα με τη λειτουργία του αλγορίθμου να αναγνωρίζεται αποτελεσματικά το φύλλο μιας εικόνας, να εξάγεται το περίγραμμά του και να μετατρέπεται σε χρονοσειρά μέσω ενός γραφικού περιβάλλοντος αλληλεπίδρασης με το χρήστη. Στο τέλος, θα γίνεται αξιολόγηση και κατηγοριοποίηση του είδους του φύλλου της δοθείσας εικόνας.

The purpose of this diploma thesis is to determine the species of a plant from an image of its leaf, using a time series classification system. The outline of each leaf is described with a time series, which is then analyzed with time series analysis algorithms to classify the plant’s class. Plant identification and classification is a common interest in the field of computer vision and machine learning.
