description	The aim of the particular thesis is to investigate and examine the subject of Maritime English in a Seafarers’ community as well as to present several perspectives and attitudes towards issues that concern English language learning and English language competency. Seafarers contributed to the research process and a general idea of how English is being treated and developed has been shaped. The reason for studying Maritime English in a Maritime Environment is that due to the establishment of English as an internationally recognized, official lingua franca and the transition of vessel crews from homogeneity to heterogeneity, communication depends very much on language skills, efficiency and competency that will ensure professional and economic success to both Seafarers and Shipping Owners as far as Shipping Industry sector is concerned.
