| Περίληψη: | In the present thesis we are facing the question of the evaluation of universities for their quality assurance.
We report the challenges of today focusing on Europe, and the related efforts of the European Union for the creation of a qualitative, competitive, and transparent European higher education area.
We analyze the basic and necessary reasons for the evaluation of universities, their quality assurance and improvement and we give an indicative trace of various examples in several European countries.
The main institutions (ENQA, EUA, CRE) are presented as well as their respective strategies of evaluation. We also point out the characteristics and the standards of quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
The thesis also focuses on in the case of Greek Universities. We present the recent Law for the quality assurance in higher education and the reflections of different actors.
The conclusions of the thesis focus on the following:
• The contribution of the evaluation of universities on their improvement and prospects.
• The conditions that are necessary for a correct and clear measurement of evaluation characteristics. |
