Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a business behavior that describes the need for sustainable and socially responsible economic development. Based on principles such as sustainability, it is conceptually linked with a number of other terms and definitions. Its implementations are quite vast and sometimes contradictive. The debate for CSR is even more evident under the new conditions set by the financial crisis and its social effects. The theoretical part of this thesis will be based on the governing framework of CSR and the research on its implementation. The governing framework incorporates a number of issues following the horizontal pattern: Creation of a term – Standardization, implementation – Institutionalization – Legislation. The section on methodology will contain a description of the processes followed during the research, the research hypotheses (based on the theoretical backbone) and the research tool, as well as the sampling method.
