description The present disertation researched the historical and social evolution of the evolution of the supervision and administration of the primary education and the curent situation of the School Advisors. Respectively, it is devided into two parts, specifically diferent from each other. The first part in the historical social analysis there is a devision in three large periods, according to to the records that were collected: 1. The period of the Advisor Committees, 2. The period of the Advisors, and 3. The period of the School Advisors In the irst period there was indeference of the committes, a fact that forced the Ministry of Education at the time to implement changes in the system. Thus the law ΒΤΜΘ΄ of 1895 it introduced for the first time the idea of the Inspectors which lasted up untill 1982, at which time the School Advisors were introduced. The idea of the school advisor within its 100 year lifespan went through a long evolution with allot of changes. These evolutions are described in detail here, together with the laws that passed over time, and especially the problems through its establishment and operation. Subsequently, there is an aproach to the school advisor from the theoretical point of view and the new law capabilities and prospects are examined. The problems that arise through this theoretical aproach and those that are expected to arise during its implementation are the subject of the empirical research that followes in the second part. The second part is composed of three basic chapters: The portret of the School Advisor, with all the personal, scientific and burocratic characteristics that it is composed off. The analysis and documentation of the educational reality followes within the school advisors live and work. The complete framework of activity with all the cooperating units is presented, and the relationships between them is examined. Subsequently, their operational and financial situation is presented. For this there is a profound disapointment, while it is examined if the choice of the school advisors are based on the their own judjemnt and on the objective or subjective criteria. In the third chapter there is an analysis of the role of the school advisors, in order to determine if the distinction between the administrative and the scientific-educational tasks that were implemented with the role of the School Advisor is beeing accepted by them, and if they adjust their work and their behaviour according to these rules. In a final chapter there is an overview of the first and second part and there is an efford to provide some sugestions that are substantiated through the theoretical and empirical aproach of the subject.
