| Περίληψη: | This report is based on survey data from 2,864 teachers who took part in the Annual Literacy Survey in early 2026. 2,567 answered questions about AI. The survey findings focus on teachers' use of, and attitudes towards, generative AI to support learning and literacy, as well as tracking demographic differences and trends over time. This report also includes insights gathered from interviews with 17 teachers, librarians and academics from 11 settings in England and Scotland in late 2025 and early 2026. The interviews explored the role of AI tools in teachers' lives, perceptions of how they affect learning, writing and reading for their students, and where teachers feel greater support is needed. 2026 saw a substantial increase in the percentage of teachers who said that they used generative AI compared with the year before, rising from 3 in 5 teachers in 2025 to 4 in 5 in 2026. However, this increase in teachers' own use of AI tools has not translated into confidence about its role in literacy education because it occurs alongside growing levels of concern about the impact of AI use on young people's literacy and learning. |
