| Περίληψη: | Low motivation often limits student participation in English as a Foreign Language classes. Traditional review exercises do not always capture students' attention. Digital platforms offer a different way to organize lesson practice. The project examined the use of Kahoot with tenth- and eleventh-grade students attending a public technical secondary school in Santiago, Dominican Republic. An Action Research approach guided the investigation. Information came from observations, questionnaires, journal entries, classroom records, and platform-generated reports. Similar tendencies appeared across the information collected. Many students participated more frequently during lesson tasks. Responses showed stronger interest in classroom work. Several participants reported feeling more comfortable when answering questions. Comments also referred to lesson comprehension. A number of students mentioned difficulties related to internet access, limited response time, unfamiliar vocabulary. Experience gathered during the intervention showed that Kahoot can be incorporated into regular English lessons without moving attention away from instructional objectives. Results obtained from the classroom provide a practical example drawn from a Dominican secondary-school context. Teachers working in secondary EFL classrooms may identify practical strategies that can be adapted to their own instructional practice. |
