Περίληψη: The concept of at-risk students, or students who are losing learning, encompasses students who have experienced trauma, students in transience, such as students in foster care or students experiencing homelessness, as well as students who don't perform well in traditional classroom environments, neurodivergent students, and students with disabilities (Gill, K., et. al, 2024, Kay, L., 2020). This study explored how Positive Childhood Experiences (PCE's) were created in a sixth to twelfth grade art classroom at a school for neurodivergent students. Though literature exists on the positive effects of resilience factors like PCE's, as well as the benefits of the arts, literature has yet to be seen linking PCE types to art education explicitly. This study intends to fill the gap. Over the course of the study, activity observations were conducted of four student participants and one participating instructor. Findings of the study showed that PCE's were created naturally in an environment that was community-driven with student-centered pedagogical practices taking priority, implementing inclusive curriculum models with access and autonomy at the forefront.
