| Περιγραφή: | A natural shell aerophone, decorated with several large pictograms or glyphs (including images representing "stone" and "Tenochtitlan") on the exterior surface. For millennia, various sizes of conch shell trumpets (known as quiquiztli or atecocolli in Náhuatl ) were used for calls to prayer, acknowledging the wind or four directions, for timekeeping, or during combat. They are now considered part of a contemporary Aztec dancer's regalia. |
